Empowering Futures: American Legion Veteran Technology Program Supports Veteran's Education with New Laptop

On December 11, 2024, members of American Legion Post 275 and the American Legion Veteran Technology Program (ALVTP) proudly presented Leo M., a United States Coast Guard veteran, with a brand-new Dell laptop. This vital tool will help Leo embark on the next chapter of his journey, pursuing a business degree at St. Petersburg College beginning January 2025.

Established in 2022, the American Legion Veteran Technology Program (ALVTP) was designed to ease the financial challenges of pursuing higher education by providing veterans with a new laptop—free of charge. If you are a veteran in need of this support or know someone who could benefit, we encourage you to submit an application. This initiative is one of the many ways the American Legion Post 275 family strives to enhance the well-being of our veteran community.

2024 Bay Pines annual Homeless Stand Down

On Saturday, April 6 2024, volunteers from American Legion Post 275, the Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion participated in Bay Pines annual Homeless Stand Down. Located on the Bay Pines Campus in the Veteran’s Courtyard, members passed out various personal hygiene and toiletry items.

Post 275 volunteers assisted the VA along with other Veteran Service Organizations and volunteers from across the area, offering assistance with medical care, clothing items, meals, benefits and housing information, employment assistance, veterinarian services, legal assistance, and DMV services.

The event, one of Bay Pines marquee events has long been a focus for the American Legion Post 275 family. Volunteers take pride in being able to help veterans in need. Their support and involvement reinforces the post’s commitment to community engagement, taking care of veterans and epitomize the American Legion’s mission to enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
