American Legion Veteran Technology Program (ALVTP):
The ALVTP was built out of necessity to assist active duty personnel and veterans pursuing higher education or private sector ventures. While financial assistance for further education is available, we found some burdened with the cost of getting the tools needed to pursue the next chapter of their careers.
We further identified the gap of these tools that our American Legion Post could fulfill in the form of computers. Veterans and active duty military interested in applying for the ALVTP should fill out the application below and email it to alvtp275@gmail.com. If selected, the recipients will be notified via email. Recipients will be able to pick up their new computer at the Post’s General Membership meeting.
Bay Pines Veterans Affair (VA) Homeless Veterans Stand-Down:
One of Bay Pines VA marquee events, the Homeless Veteran Stand-down offers the areas homeless veteran population with multiple forms of assistance which include: medical care, toiletries, clothing items, meals, benefits and housing information, employment assistance, veterinarian services, legal assistance, and DMV services. The Post 275 family has been a staunch supporter of this event every year with volunteers passing out a number of different personal hygiene and sundry items.
Wreaths Across America:
Every year Post 275 family proudly takes part in Wreaths Across America, placing remembrance wreaths at the graves of fallen service members interned at Curlew Hills Memorial Garden. It is one way members of the post are able to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the communities children the value of freedom. Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
